For the gentlemen and for the women. What will be an outfit, looks, style without a dashing shoes and bags? Ok maybe shoes, we can leave our bags at home or in the car. I often leave my bag behind for a weekend, small pouch or wallet and mobile phone will do it for a weekend lunch or a strut on the shopping streets.

But shoes? Love it and adore it. I blame it to my parents, they had a successful shoes & bags store when I was a kid. So now everyone know where I got my shoes/bags addiction from.

There is an online-shop with shoes and bags as their speciality, they are famous in France and just celebrating their first year online-shop in the lowland, The Netherlands. I am talking about Sarenza.

Amazing range of brands of shoes from streets to fashion and turn to the left for some luxury. Blinded by labels (you will love their more than 600 contemporary, fashion and luxury labels) or just having huge amount of trust fund? Go directly to their Luxury section.

PUNK CATS

What happened when the ‘black tie & night-gown’ tradition as MET Gala trying to be controversial with a bit punk theme such as “Punk: Chaos to couture”? Cats on red carpet! Of course not, what happen was (proven) the MET’s guests stayed in with their black tie and night-gown.

And what happen when Creative Director as Grace Coddington expected something else than black tie and night gown and didn’t get it? Cats! Cats in her favorite ‘punks’ pieces that didn’t show up at the ball. Actually she also said while she was on the red carpet “I’d like to see some real punks here, like street punks.”

Do you like the head-to-tail looks on this punk felines?

And so to celebrate, every day from now till May 21st we will be wondering how they make things. We will wonder, and we will be wrong. So go along, watch them make a bag, or a scarf, or an ashtray. Take notes, ask questions, breath in the world of fine craftsmanship and learn how to make a bag. Learn the correct way, not our way to make a bag.

SAINT LAURENT: NEW PARIS FLAGSHIP BOUTIQUE

Imagine a temple of fashions. A marble cube with concrete floors and 1930’s mirrored vitrines of silver and gold. It sounds cold yet feels warm. Marble is surprisingly warm. There are clothes too. Clothes that have been suspended mid air. That hang from nickel plated bars like ghostly apparitions. Or are draped over marble podiums. Should you want to you could mimic the way they drape by draping yourself over one of the dark quilted leather banquettes. You never know, you be purchased if you drape well enough.”The precise mathematical repetition of the clean vertical and horizontal lines of display cases, shelves and strip lighting adds a dramatic visual rhythm to the space.” This temple though is not a vision. This temple is real. This temple is the new home of Saint Laurent on Avenue Montaigne. This temple is a mecca of fashions, and has been since this weekend.
